Winning the War In Your Mind

Our thoughts are powerful. They change our perspective, impact our decisions, and influence our habits. But what do we do when we become trapped by our thoughts, unable to escape negative and unhealthy thinking?

Let’s learn what it means to take our thoughts captive and win the war in our minds.

Welcome to our new Associate Pastor Steve Likovetz. Steve started attending FallsCreek (Falls Baptist Temple) in 1978 when he was 3 years old. He was led to the Lord by his mom when he was 7 and baptized by Pastor Mike. He was called into full time ministry in 1991 but told God "not me". He joined the Marine Corps 8 years later where he met his wife, Tina. They returned to Ohio upon finishing his time in the Marines and began attending FallsCreek.

Tina was led to the Lord by Pastor Mike and they both served at the church in the choir and worship team. He then decided to enlist in the Navy and when he finished his time, the family settled in Pensacola, Florida, where they have lived since 2012. In the last few months, God reignited his calling into full time ministry and Steve and Tina are ready to say "here I am, send me".

We are excited to see what's in store at FallsCreek. They are ready to make a difference in the Akron area for the glory of the Father. So welcome to Steve, Tina and their kids - Hannah, Nate and Megan.

Church can be an intimidating place to visit - especially if you don't know what to expect. Hey, you may even consider church irrelevent, boring, hypocritical and even segregated. Believe it or not, we agree with you! FallsCreek is far from a perfect church. In fact, we are a church for imperfect people. At FallsCreek, you don't have to be perfect or pretend you are.

So what is FallsCreek like? It is a place where you will be accepted no matter where you are on your spiritual journey. We don't care where you have been, we care about where you are going and we want to help you get there. The teaching in our services and Bible classes is positive, relevant and life-applicable. Our atmosphere is casual. Our worship is contemporary and media-driven. While you may not be ready to get involved right away, there are a variety of exciting possibilities at FallsCreek for you to meet people just like yourself.

We are a community of people who are in process. We have imperfect messy lives, but we are pursuing and experiencing a transforming relationship with Jesus and with each other. Everybody is welcome here whatever your story and wherever you are on your spiritual journey. Whether you're a spiritual seeker who's just starting to ask questions about God, or a committed Christian who wants to sink the roots of your faith even deeper, you can find a home here at FallsCreek. You'll find that this is a place where you really matter - because you matter to God.
